Pre-production is the industry term for planning – and of course it varies from job to job.
This is the stage our Producers, Directors, Storyboard Artists and Scriptwriters will work together to deliver creative ideas, concept outlines, storyboards and scripts. Once you’re happy with the creative elements you’ll be asked to sign them off. These are our blueprints. They ensure everyone is clear on what we’re going to deliver.
We then get into the logistical details – booking travel, casting actors or presenters, sourcing props or location scouting. Our Production Managers and Producers will keep you up to date, so you know exactly what is happening, when and where.
We need to ensure everything is just right before we start filming — and this takes time.
Perfecting the lighting, for example, takes patience and expertise, and it’s probably the most important ingredient in making the ordinary look extraordinary. The right lighting adds drama, changes the mood and makes products and people look incredible. With our high-end lighting rigs and slightly obsessive crew you know your footage will be beautiful.
Our crew will also be testing the sound quality in the room. Often underestimated, poor sound quality can ruin the whole production. Fortunately, we will ensure everything sounds as good as it should before we begin. When everyone is happy, the filming can begin. From behind the camera our Directors and Producers can get the best performance from those in front of the lens. Whether they’re seasoned professionals or nervous first-timers – we’re here to make them look great.
Whatever the project we’ll take care of every detail. We’ve worked on hundreds of events and films around the world and you can count on us to be polite, professional, friendly and we will make the whole experience as painless as possible. You can be involved as much, or a little, as you like and we’re always on hand to answer questions.
Our editing suite is where the project really comes to life and a shoot turns into a powerful story. All the elements to create to pace, drama and emotion are weaved together to craft a first cut ready for your feedback. This can be done remotely or from a comfortable chair in our studios. Once you’ve given us sign off, we’ll create the final version. We’ll grade the images to make them look even more gorgeous; perfect the sound and create the formatted master files.
