The Waitrose Way

An animation to inspire employees to get behind the vision and values at Britain’s premium supermarket chain

Waitrose needed a concise but powerful way to communicate their core ethos and values to all of their employees. They wanted to share their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy as well as showcase all of the fantastic work that they already do, so kinetic animation provided the perfect approach.

For this film the messages were delivered via a quirky and creative mix of dynamic text and animated imagery, presented in earthy tones that are perfectly suited to the Waitrose brand and the ‘green’ themes that the animation illustrates.

We started by creating a concept, script and mood boards which were presented to the client. Next we produced a storyboard utilising custom assets created in Illustrator, which detailed the content of each shot as well as the flow of the animation. When this received client sign off we began the animation process.

The client was delighted and the film has played a crucial role in their employee engagement campaign.

Waitrose is known for it’s high quality and ethically sourced goods as well as its excellent customer service.
